FRI 10 MAR 2006
Got some new pins, some new shows and hopefully new shirts soon! Also, we're playing with Haram (ex Pg.99/Majority Rule) at the end of the month!

MON 30 JAN 2006
Happy new year? Middle East show this Monday...!

FRI 30 DEC 2005
Just added couple of shows to start off the new year, we're planning more as well so stay tuned. We've been writing some new songs that we all agree are much better than what we recorded last year...so we may end up recording again very soon with that new material. You'll know when we agree on something!

Also note: we're playing the Middle East the same night as The Bronx/Buried Inside show. :( ?

MON 15 OCT 2005
I promised more updating, so here it is: shows!

TUE 04 OCT 2005
Another lapse of web updating...my apologies. Things have been hectic with our own personal stuff, but rest assured - we've been rocking away semi-regularly and coming up with some great new material. Hopefully we can line up some autumn shows to play them at! And yes, that damn EP continues to elude a release date. There was some brief talk of recording some more songs and releasing all the material together as a full length. We'll see...

SUN 12 JUN 2005
A note from our friend Peter:

Hello friends. June, that most emo of months, is upon us and we have goings on to report. Most importantly, as you may have noted in the "shows" section, we have a couple of dates lined up for the end of the month. These shows are mandatory. There will be no excused absences(unless of course you can produce a note from a parent). Rocking out with us, much like jury duty, is your civic obligation.

On a sad note, we have recently become statistics. Apparently, this oppressive wave of summer heat was not traveling alone. With it came a equally oppressive wave of summer crime. Swept away in the tsunami of kleptomania were Mike's sweet roof-racked Honda and my totally awesome bass cab. I know, boo-fucking-hoo, right? Well, we're not going to whine about it or set up some paypal account to collect your generous donations, but we would appreciate supportive emails.

Feel free to send your love to pete@crisisbureau.net and be sure to include your credit card number and expiration date in the body of the email(for our records).

End message.

MON 02 MAY 2005
Been a while. EP is still in the works. Shows are still in the pipe. Tim's getting married!

TUE 15 MAR 2005
"Watchword." The title for our forthcoming EP. Hopefully very soon. Stay tuned.

TUE 15 FEB 2005
Ok, we got all the logistics worked out for the March 04 show @ the BCCA and it's gonna rule. Plus, we got stickers in and they look pretty rad. Come to the show to get some! Plus, we got one of those myspace profile page thingies...come be our friend. Please. We're lonely.

MON 07 FEB 2005
Shows are in the works, as well as merch. Finally!

SAT 22 JAN 2005
Wow. We got to see Envy a couple of times and it was even better than expected. Make sure you go see them while they're here on their first US tour. We want them to come back!

In show news, we hopped onto a good one last night at The Library that Jonah was nice enough to host. Thanks to those who came out, despite the -2 degree weather! Our show this Wednesday has been re-arranged a bit, but we're still excited - so please come and say hello.

SUN 09 JAN 2005
Back from vacation, welcoming the new year and we get a nice present - in the form of an invitation to play downstairs at the Middle East! Thanks to Lucia Lie for asking us, and Shred for hooking us up. The EP production is still under way, and we will hopefully (fingers crossed) decide on some merch to have at the ME show. Don't forget to check out an mp3 from our latest recording:

» 'My Monument'

OH SNAP, I almost forgot - ENVY THIS WEEKEND!!!!!! GO DAMNIT, GO!!!!!

THU 09 DEC 2004
Wow. Our show last night was amazing. Thank you dearly to all our friends who came out to support us at our first Mid East appearance. Hopefully there will be many more. Extra special thanks to the superbly nice Lock & Key fellows for asking us to play and showing us a great time. It was wonderful - and how things should be.

We handed out nearly 50 free CDs that have 2 songs from our latest recording...and just in case you're wondering we'll have some more to give out at our upcoming shows! In the meantime, sate your curiousity by listening to an MP3 version of one of the tracks ('My Monument').

And don't forget the naked quad run show this friday!!!

WED 17 NOV 2004
WE GOT THE FINAL MASTERED VERSION OF OUR RECORDING! I'll try and put up a song soon, if I can stop playing Half Life 2. Check out the flyers for our December shows!

THU 4 NOV 2004
Well, I wish I had updated this before yesterday cause I wanted it to be a happy post. Oh well.

We played Halloween and it was amazing. Much thanks to Jonah for allowing us to have the show at his house, the other bands who put on sick sets (Cro-Mags! Slayer! MISFITS!), and most of all to the 130+ kids who crammed into a small basement and breathed ceiling tile dust for 5 hours. It was AWESOME. This is for the kids who sang along to our Sick Of It All set:

moustache

We get the mastered version of our recording back soon (mastered at West West Side), so stay tuned for that...meanwhile, we got some more shows for you!

WED 20 OCT 2004
Recording at Machines With Magnets was an absolute blast. Mike and Keith were extremely pleasant and kept us focused on getting our music done right. We're going back to do the final mixdown this Monday, so stay tuned. And if you're thinking about recording, GO THERE!!!

THU 14 OCT 2004
We're recording this weekend!!! And man are we excited. We truly think things are coming together, so sign up for our email list and come to our crazy halloween show we're having! Check out the flyer, it's brilliant. Thanks to Michiel for drawing it and thanks to Jonah for putting on the show. Email him for directions to the show space...

SAT 25 SEP 2004
So we've settled down and have begun getting ready to go back into the studio and record again. We're quite excited! After searching around for some good studios, we've decided on Machines With Magnets in Providence in mid-October. Keith seems like a great guy and he's recorded some great bands, so I'm sure it's gonna be awesome. We'll keep you posted with how it's going...and we're making plans to setup some good shows - so be in touch!

WED 08 SEP 2004
Woah!! It's been entirely too long. I'll save the long update for another time. We played some awesome shows, and we're getting ready to record again! In the meantime, check out how sick I am:

punk eye!

TUE 20 JUL 2004
Ok. Well, it turned out that the Choppin Block show got cancelled at the last minute. Or something. Anyway, never mind that, it's not like anyone here showed up for it! ;) BUT BUT BUT, you must come down and see us play with Clair de Lune and Lock & Key tomorrow evening. It will rock...& be. Oh boy, that was a bad one.

FRI 09 JUL 2004
MORE SHOWS! -->

WED 23 JUN 2004
A note from our friend Peter:

"Wow! Nice day today. So the band's been busy working on a new song and we all know you're going to love it. It'll probably be on the new EP that is currently in the early stages of pre-production. Also, Tim learned a new chord(G major sus4 niner 7th) and he thinks he might work it into one of our old songs. Be sure to listen for that at the next show. Mike has been writing lyrics in a notebook every night. Maybe we'll post some of them so you guys can all sing along! He's also been planning on rearranging the furniture in his room, so keep your eyes peeled for a possible live webcast! I'm excited to see where he puts the chair. Sabih tells me he went for a walk on the Charles last night. That sounds nice! I wonder if he found anymore interesting driftwood? If he did, we'll be sure to take pictures and make some AIM Icons. Gary and I have been pretty boring in comparison with the rest of the band. If either one of us does something exciting, we'll let you know immediately! I'll bet Gary will do something first. Peace out fans of Crisis Bureau!"

TUE 25 MAY 2004
Wow, it's been a while since our last communique. Ok, we've been busy with our own stuff but have been working hard on new things for you to enjoy. SO, you should come out this Friday and see us play in Taunton, MA! Check the shows box to the right. Oh, and I will get those photos up...I promised.

MON 19 APR 2004
Whew! All those shows came and went, some better than others. The last show we had, for Ammonia Records' boss Robin's birthday bash went really well and we met some good guys in the NY band Endwell.

The show with The Nationale Blue was awesome, as they were superb! We're brewing up some stuff, so stay tuned for further updates. And I'll get some photos up soon, I promise!

MON 08 MAR 2004
We have confirmed that In Pieces will be playing on the March 20th show at All About Records.

THU 04 MAR 2004
Got some more confirmations about those shows I was talking about yesterday...still have to get a few more details, but we know they're at least on!

WED 03 MAR 2004
We have a few shows brewing for later this month and early April, and we promise you they'll rock, so stay tuned...In the meantime, check out the photos from our Haverhill show back in early February.

TUE 10 FEB 2004
For the people that were at the Haverhill show - thanks for the great response! We went in thinking that we would be way out of place and very much hated, but we had a great time and rocked out with some great bands! And we have another show lined up as well - check the right side.

WED 04 FEB 2004
Hope you guys (all two of you) were able to make it to the Cambridge show...but if you werent, we got a special, soopa-metal show lined up for you this week in Haverhill! Upon Crimson Wings is no longer playing, but Dead Water Drowning has replaced them.

THU 22 JAN 2004
Make sure you come down to Cambridge and check out the show this Saturday...a bunch of great bands and a matinee show! 2:00 pm in the afternoon so don't stay up all night playing video games. And sign up to our mailing list below!

MON 05 JAN 2004
Wow, we're getting lucky now...just got some more shows lined up for January and February!

SUN 04 JAN 2004
We just made a section for ourselves over at purevolume - where you can listen to our demo in your browser as long as you have flash installed.

SUN 04 JAN 2004
This is a new design for the site we just put up...again, simple and straightforward. Tell us what you think of it.

FRI 19 DEC 2003
We're playing with some blokes that day after new years, so don't get so drunk that you won't be able to drive out and come see us.

MON 15 DEC 2003

Splended E-zine
I hesitate to label myself a hardcore fan because the vast majority of hardcore bands suck, and they tend to suck with more gusto than the average band. Most of them are too busy trying to learn how to play metal or being pouty fashion-alert scene boys to remember the youthful exuberance that sparked the genre -- so while hardcore as a whole may not appeal to me, these Crisis Bureau characters sure as heck do. This two song demo is everything a 21st century hardcore band should be. While it should be noted that the band doesn't commit any of today's commonplace heavy music sins -- mimicking Dillinger time changes in every breakdown or penning songs with ludicrous names like "Autumn Bullets and Angels of Death", for instance -- it's much better to focus on what they are doing. Both of these songs are top flight melodic chaos; they're invigorating to listen to, easy to sing to and fun to mosh to. Vocals get an A+, both the piercing yells and the pirate-like, emotion-drenched sung parts. The guitars teeter on the edge of being metal, but are instead kept intact as a strong melodic component. In fact, everything is near perfect, even the recording, which was done by Converge's Kurt Ballou. Right now, it may be helpful to throw out comparisons like Stretch Arm Strong, Hope Conspiracy or Shai Hulud, but before long Crisis Bureau could establish themselves as a hardcore yardstick in their own right.

Not a big fan of hardcore, but when listening to this, how could I not be? Just a great two song demo if there ever was one. Loud, hard, fast, aggressive. Listening to this made me want to get into a pit and crack someone's skull open (in a good way, of corse). I honestly want to get a full-length from these guys. A wonderful demo from the guys located in Boston, Massachusetts. If you are thinking of booking a hardcore show, make sure you get these guys on the bill, they won't disappoint. The overall 8.5 shows it, I deffinetly felt this demo. If you can get one, do it.

It seems like bands are spending more time with there demos lately and Crisis Bureau make no exception. They recorded with Kurt Ballou so the recording is amazing and the layout is pretty nice too. The music isn't like your typical hardcore band, I even hesitate to call these guys a hardcore band, they have more of an abstract sound that I can't put my finger on. The songs take more of a melodic vibe and the only band I can think of comparing them to are Grade...There are some rock and roll-ish influences that you might catch onto as well. However you want to classify Crisis Bureau's sound, it's safe to say that there demo has two powerful songs. Listening to this demo there's no question that these guys have talent, and I'm looking forward to seeing where these guys will end up...I wouldn't be surprised to see big things happen for these guys.

CRISIS BUREAU - 2 song demo. Having your demo recorded by Kurt Ballou is awesome. This band really impresses with these two tracks, with a chunky, metallic hardcore sound and impressive vocals. Reminded me of old SNAPCASE in parts..
